Intrusive thoughts? Flashbacks? What is this?

I have had some pretty odd things come up over the past couple of weeks that makes no sense. One I felt like my kids were very very young like they were when I was with the person that got me here. I saw a "picture" of my daughter and I couldn't shake it.
Next day I had one when a child was spanked. The sound took me back to my son when he was being spanked by my ex.
Those few days I had been dissociating off and on after my husband and I had been intimate.

Yesterday I was driving down a road and suddenly felt like I was on a different road and a "picture" of a car I had when I was with him, when my kids were that little came to me.

What is all this and why??? I don't understand it. Does this make any sense???

I guess I did a terrible job of explaining myself. But....it's very hard to put on "paper".

don't have a name for it but happens to me, too. the physical nature doesn't change, but how i relate to it changes.
building hallway becomes a different hallway.
park path becomes a path i used as a child.
it is... odd.
