Sarge you are right. My yazidi friend gets mistaken for Mexican all the time. I poke fun. Says he can get a job at one of the Mexican restaurants any time he wants.

Sarg, and all,

I should have taken more time to explain. The idea that they can get here is a given. Hell, I'm sure they're here already along with many others, most of whom are just looking for something better. And, more will keep coming.

My frustration is with how many folks will panic over the thought that some of the world's shit could rub off on them. Those same creampuffs will look to legislators to write some law that will keep them safe. And, the legislators will be glad to write some non-enforceable piece of crap that does nothing but make life more complicated, and unrealistic.

Want an example? Read the Patriot Act that was passed after 9/11. That act was a clear violation of the U.S. Constitution, the very basis of our form of government. And, they passed it because they were afraid.

There's nothing wrong with being afraid. Becoming a coward because of fear is one of our biggest problems. And I'm sick and tired of cowards interfearing in my life. I'm sick and tired of those who are not willing to fight for what they've earned.

I can't keep them out of this country. But, I sure as hell can keep them out of this half an acre of island where I live. Terrorists depend on fear, and take advantage of it. Isn't is sad when we provide them with what they need.

SD

I agree with you SD. Fear can really screw things up for a country, especially a democracy. Out of fear, people in this country have given up some of our basic constitutional rights. As far as I am concerned I welcome those shitheads to come over here. I'm not obligated to go by the Geneva Convention anymore. Besides I haven't heard a shot fired in anger for years. LOL

I could not agree more! Is Satanclause (Last Boyscout reference. Yeah I did) out there? Hell yes. Can we stop him from existing? Or even from existing in our country? No! But to recoil in fear and hide in our homes at the mere suggestion that evil may exist is to give in to exactly how they draw their power. And for those poor delusional spineless morons that think the government will save them, you are going to die. I believe down to my soul that if you aren't willing to fight for your freedom you don't deserve it. So if ISIS, or al-Quaeda, or taliban, or whatever said group of shitbags calls themselves should come on to my acre of paradice I will stack their asses like cordwood for the garbage man to collect. So what do we do? Be prepared son. That's my motto. (did it again)

Arwarfighter, with all due respect, easier said than done.
The animal that killed the journalist J Foley is born and bred UK citizen. Speaks with a middle class East-London accent.

Besides the immigrant children born in the west, there are genetically "western" people who have converted. No more fiery in believe then those converted.

In prison it's a big thing. People join the religious boys for protection. When they come out, the welcome committee is already waiting for them.
With a safe place to stay, food and eventually an assignment.

You might never know who is an extremist and who isn't.
I'm careful to make a difference between a certain religion or background and extremism.
It might however come to the point where there is no telling.

On what? Dresscode?
Colour of skin?
We're on a slippery slope here my friend cos once we start condemning people for their background, we are in 1936 again.

I have no solution but how can you tell who is who?
My son looks like he could be anything from French to downright Arab. Depending on the light, how much he's been in the sun, you name it.
You might be willing to wait until someone is a confirmed extremist. Others don't always have that kind of insight or self restraint.
Moslim friends of mine are getting really fed up with defending that they're NOT extremists and they're walking in a protestmarch against ISIS.

I'll fight allright. Against the people that threaten everything we fought for over the centuries.
Our freedom, our right of speech, our vote as women long after men got it.
Only the list of groups, organisations and individuals threatening that is a hell of a lot longer then what is written above.
You tell me how I don't take out the wrong person and I'll tattoo it on my arm to be sure.

The journalist that got killed, what was he doing??? He was making MONEY, I would guess one hell of a lot more than any soldier gets paid per day to be in combat. Sorry he got killed, sorry for his family. But this guys death is made into a big f*cking deal, why??? All he was doing was just making a shit pot full of $$$$. Off of death and distruction......

Soldiers get killed every day, not a big deal at all, except for their family and friends.

Time for me to shut the f*ck Up!!!!

Never stfu ODG.
Some people take a calculated risk although I'm not sure if they know what they're getting into.

My example was not about him.
About recognising the enemy.
Okay the bloke with the AK47 in your back is a fairly sure sign yes.
Just never stfu if you think we, as military or vets, have had the same risk and got paid a lot less.

The truth is the truth.

dutchie, my PTSD locked on the Journalist thing. In Nam the so called big name journalist stayed in Saigon and never went to the bush. They had other nobody guys do that for them. If you ever saw them on TV in a fire fight, it was a f*cking set up, total BS for most of them. They worked for the 3 big TV networks. I will alway HATE the News Media that always made us look like shit......I STFU because I was getting pissed.......

Your comments about recognising the enemy, are 100% dead on!!! Sorry about the pun....:)

That reporter knew full and well that was a risk he was taking not only to get the report but also a paycheck. The other reporter that was over there was released over this weekend from Syria.

ISIS is certainly bad news. The destabilization in the region after we left ultimately breed this group. When al-Qaeda says this group is to radical for them to associate with, that's a clear indication of how bad this group is.

Those that think they can simply knock out these people with some air strikes are ultimately delusional. They are extremely mobile. They can blend into the population just like other terror groups within Syria and Iraq. That's what makes dealing with any group over there difficult to defeat.

They pretty much come into a city and pillage it. They knock out banks and have gained millions. They will ultimately have the power, funds, and plans to eventually come into the United States. It might not be on a large scale but they have the ability to come in and do damage. You also know full and well that some of those people are already within the states, Canada, and England. That has been confirmed over and over again by several sourced.

They are all over the place.

Then U.S. Will not do shit to them. Until it either costs some large corporation a lot of money or until a large corporation sees an opportunity to make a lot of money. War isn't about freedom. It's about capitalism. Freedom is a bi-product.

At this very moment we know have intel where ISIS in N Iraq. The opportunity to eliminate a threat is there. No money it it.

I'm just done.
