Is it possible to have vertigo-induced dissocative experiences?

I am suffering from vertigo and it seems that it is triggering dissociation and I find myself regressing to a child state at times...is this possible?

I don't really understand what I am experiencing...all I know is that I sometimes go "out of body" and cannot answer questions about myself that I would usually know the answer to.

and I don't really understand how vertigo could be a trigger.

Yes, it's possible. Do you have any idea how long it lasts? It sounds like a part may be taking over and having a physical symptom. Can you pinpoint what happened right before that vertigo feeling?

Hi @Gia1019 ,

...the first time it lasted several hours, another time it was only a few minutes, it seems to vary along with the vertigo symptoms. I have not been able to pinpoint what happened before the Vertigo,

....only that I am grieving the recent loss of my mother and the first time it happened, I was riding in the back of an ambulance because I thought I was having heart problems and they were rushing me out of town to the hospital.

Bless your heart, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I cannot even imagine how painful it would be to lose my Mom.

You are very brave to work through the grief. I will pray for your healing. Do you have a good therapist who is helping you through this process?

Thank you, my world just sort of "stopped" when I lost my mom..

It is deeply painful and I appreciate your support....

I am heartbroken but, am hanging tough...

and I do have a good therapist who I will talk with on Wednesday. Maybe she can lend some insight into my experiences as well.
