It Happened. Now What?

I'm still not home yet, but I'm also further away from the harm. I am at another family members house. I distracted myself today. Took 4 teenage girl cousins out shopping on Boxing Day. So my entire focus today was on keeping an eye on them, and also helping one who was having a panic attack.

Now I'm having dinner with lots of other family members. Keeping busy still. I drive home in a few hours.

Really glad you have been able to keep yourself busy and grounded and am thinking of you loads and hope you are able to also look after yourself in the time you have once you are home and am praying peace for you.

God bless
Helen

Made it home. Now I'm in a frenzy. Don't know what to do. Going to contact the number @TwoDee2ThreeDee gave me again. Ask them about being drugged for an exam. I will post how that goes.

Going to try and do anything I can to calm my mind before it gets too far gone. I think I need a lot of support tonight. Feeling lower than last night. Last night I think I was in shock from it happening. I don't have that going for me tonight.

That's great news Mytai, I am so proud of you. That was a terrible situation that you survived. You are a fighter and I'm glad I got the opportunity to be there. Please take care of you, you and only you!!!

It's totally normal to feel worse as the shock wears off. You are doing a great job and should be proud of yourself.

Well done for looking into what you can do about an examination. What about phoning victims support too? I think they may be able to offer you practical support.

Let us know how you go. Remember that you are important.

I tried to call, used the number TwoDee2ThreeDee gave me but they don't have that kind of information. So I called Telehealth (nursing line) and they can't legally give out that information. So basically my options are to either not go at all, or risk it and go and hope they will put me out for it or leave if they won't.

What about contacting the hospital themselves and having someone support you? You may even be able to email. I would lay it down there and say it is either a case of being knocked out so you don't feel anything or not coming in. Tell them you have had too much trauma for it to be an option.

You need a dr on board and ideally someone to advocate on your behalf. I am wondering if someone at victims support might know a sympathetic dr. Not sure how it works there.

You are doing really well. Remember we are all here supporting you.

@Abstract The way it works here is you see the doctors who are on call for the ER. Victims support would provide exactly that, support, but have no control or say with the hospital system. Emailing the hospital wouldn't get a speedy response. I can try calling in and see if they are willing to give out an answer.

Same answer from the hospital. They can't give out information like that over the phone, I expected to hear that. They said to come in if I wanted to discuss that with the ER doctor on call.

Calling sounds like an excellent idea Mytai. See if you can get the name of the dr on duty and maybe see if you can speak to the dr themselves. You have more bargaining power before you go in.
