Thank you very much everyone for your kind words. I found out the weight last night when I went out to the hospital, 7 pound, 3 ounces. My MIL is down now as I picked her up from the airport this morning, so we will take some pics this afternoon when we all go out and visit. I will post them later tonight, my time, so everyone can see the little fella. He rocks...

Alexander met his new little brother last night and gave him a pat, then poked him in the eye and tried to stick his finger up his nose. Brotherly love is already upon us. I now have a house to clean... for those who have experienced / witnessed birth, you can imagine as it was a home birth. Some much needed disinfecting to do.

Oh my goodness!
I didn't realize it was a home birth!
Because I worked on the hospital maternity ward... I know exactly what kind of mess you are talking about...
was there a reason Kerrie-ann didn't go to the hospital for the birth?
Or was it a personal choice?

Ahhh just a little mess LOL, but I am sure well worth it. But it is truly a magical moment when intervention not needed is not there. But glad we live in a time it is there when it is actually needed! It is so special. I did not know they ship offf to the hospital after birth, any reason or just how things are done out there? My midwife stayed for about 6 hours after birth with me and help make food and get everyone settled in and make sure all went well into the morning.

I love the new brother meeting too funny, it already has begun!

I swear I still have padding and "catch-alls" in my upstairs closet. Yeah, I need to clean this place out, like why do I need them? Someone going to show up on my door step and unexpetedly have a babe LOL?

I "loved" one of my hospital baby experiences, ran out of private rooms. I had to share with a major screamer. I mean paint off the walls at every little contraction... I think I was screaming louder than her to give her the drugs LOL. Anything to chill that lady out. All I could guess was it was her first rodeo. Wonder if she had anymore?

Well done to you both,. When the little man is up for his first train ride dont be shy to ring me. All the best Nugget & Jods

It was a personal choice because Alexander she went to hospital with, and because he didn't progress to "their" timeline, the intervened too much and the typical nowadays scenario occured, she ended up in surgery to have a caesar. They stuffed up royally, to say the least, so this time she had a home birth instead with midwives, which after 9 hours bub came out happily without issue.

If she went to hospital, they wouldn't have allowed her 9 hours in 2nd stage labour to get bub out, once again they would have taken "their" easy way out and gone for surgery. They fed her lots of shit the first time, broke her waters which you should never do, drugs and lots of intervention, and because he was posterior, all this crap he ended up distressed in utero, hence emergeny surgery.

Caleb was posterior also, but the water and no drugs, contractions etc, is what helps turn the baby, and did at the last minute as the female body is designed too do. Hospitals are now about timelines, in... out... done. They don't like waiting for a women to have a natural birth anymore, because its too much of their own time taken up. Hired midwives instead for a home birth, which did the trick just fine. Both healthy, no surgery to get over or emotional aspects to get over.

Kerrie still struggles emotionally now with Alexanders birth, and this would have just confirmed too her that she was actually capable as a woman to give birth without intervention. Hopefully this will help her now realise and understand the level of intervention the hospital forced upon her last time which made it all turn bad.

Thank you all for the lovely support. Sorry about the pics, the camera is still at the hospital. I will bring it home today and post pics.

Oh... Kerrie now has Alexanders chicken pox also.... piss funny. She looks like one big chicken pox now.

Anthony thats not funny poor Kerri Anne!! Give her my best wishes and tell her I said her husband has a weird sense of humour:smile:
