It's Been A Rough Old Time Lately

Thanks in advance for reading.

Four weeks ago I had a much long awaited and wanted stomach surgery but ever since I haven't been able to take my normal medication properly like I should. I have seven tablets to take at night and the size of my stomach is now so small that I can't even get them in.

For the first two weeks I just completely stopped taking all of the medication, morning and night as every single time I swallowed one it would reappear *Yuck* - This was a bad idea I know, I went through horrible withdrawals and then when I thought I was clear all my symptoms slammed back in like a sledgehammer, nightmares, insomnia, panic attacks, hypervigilance all back worse than ever.

So I try jumping back on the medications in desperation to dull it all, but I just have no room for all these tablets!

Now I am trying to take one tablet every half hour from the time I get home till the time I got to sleep, but I can feel myself slipping down the spiral - and this only ends one way - full breakdown, I HAVE to get a hold on this...soon.

I spoke to my surgeon and although she was worried about my lack of ability to take the medicines there is not much they can do until the swelling in my stomach goes down which she said could take up to twelve weeks...arrhh how long can I hold on??

I saw my GP and her hands are tied to, she see me again this week just before I return to work on the 24th, work is going to be a hurdle - twelve hours a day for fifteen days - what with my eating issue, migraines and now this I just can't seem to catch a break. I am now having two twenty-four to forty-eight hour long migraines a week with very little ability to take the pain relief needed to work. But I must return I took 4 weeks off to heal and have no more annual leave or medical leave left.

Sleep has become my enemy again, most nights I can't fall asleep till three - four am and then come the nightmares.

God give me strength!

Is Imitrex (I think the non-brand name is sumatriptan) an available option where you are? It is specifically for migraines and it comes in several forms, one of which is an auto-injector. So when you have a migraine you give yourself a shot. It is very effective for many people, myself included and you wouldn't have the issue with not being able to manage pills.
