I am so sorry to hear about your kitty, it is so Hard that they live so much shorter lives than we do... You gave her a lovely life full of love and affection - and that's the best anyone can do.:hug:

Yes on the shoes and outfit. Leather shoes are the best for your feet because they let them breathe. Sorry to the Vegans out there, I'm weird about meat, but I love real leather.

As for your kitty. I had my Sharise for almost 17 years, from the time I first moved out from my mom's house until I had both of my boys. She was my first real pet. She started getting sick, old age, and her body was shutting down. I knew she wasn't well when she was losing weight. So many things were going wrong, and I could tell she knew it. Like when she couldn't hold her urine. I knew, the last time I brought her in to the vet, that if she lost anymore weight that would be it. She lost about two pounds(which is a lot on an already thin cat). We put her to sleep. When they did it, she meowed and looked directly in my eyes. I was a mess for quite a time after that.

I guess my point in telling you this is so that you are not alone in your pain(though you have Rhett and the other kitties). I feel for you. My heart breaks. You have my heart felt condolences and a strong hug(only if okay of course).

The kitten who grew up with him is searching the house for him, the other cats are constantly cuddling up to us.

Sascha refused to look me in the eye except for once, and he just focused on the oxygen, the methadone took away most of his pain so he was subtly rubbing against my hand when I stroked.

I did what I always do when a pet dies, I told him he was going to sleep, and it wouldn't hurt and he would feel a whole lot better than he did right now.
I cradled his head, and he sank his head into my hands, moved onto his side and stayed there.

And then his head dropped.

Yes, and they are totally worth it, but beware, some people think their items are worth a small fortune and will charge you accordingly. Try to find an artisan that works with the same materials and commission a custom piece.

As for the outfit, I say it is good to spoil ourselves sometimes. Good for you.

We are really, really feeling the loss, when 3 cats hop on the bed, we look for the 4th, and then our faces drop when we realise he is gone.

The nicest thing was that after he passed and I rested his head on the blanket, he stayed with Sascha and rearranged his legs and tail so that he was curled up sleeping, looking at us out of the corner of his eye.

We are just making sure that all of the cats are getting attention right now, and are near us constantly, I have my partner here on the bed, and the 2 cats are between us, the 3rd is coming up now.

On another note, I'm planning to serve hot spiced cider for drinks at the wedding, and we have found a warehouse which allows us to do my nails instead of paying a salon a fortune and them constantly stuffing it up.

We are also planning to get some fake nails for both of us to practice on, that way when I do my nails, I won't stuff myself up.

It's really nice having a partner who spoils me so much, and makes sure that I take care of myself, and that we can relax together.

It feels like it was just yesterday that Sascha passed away.

I've been looking through Etsy to find an artist who can do a sketch or small oil painting of him, and have found some really good ones, so bugger the wedding, it can wait for a month, I'm going to save for this instead.

He's feeling it heaps too, I didn't think he was that attached to my cat, but it appears he adored him as much as I do.

Every time I sit in bed with tears running down my face, he comes and hugs me, and I feel a bit closer to him, but I'm feeling as fragile as a robin's egg at the moment.

Despite that, I've been looking around on Etsy, desperate to get my mind off things, and have found some nice bits and pieces that I'm going to use for part of the design.

Now, before anyone says anything, the pics I'm about to post up are NOT copyrighted, I checked, and they are used widely through forums, the owner doesn't mind.

Even though it might look a little silly, I really like the slightly older vintage looks, and the femininity they entail, hence some of the pictures.

There are bits and pieces from each era that I've taken, but other parts of those eras that I've completely rejected (because I think they are just :wtf:), but I'm hoping I can meld things together in a way that will be pretty but not hodge podge and pre-school collage looking!

Anyway, take a look, and see what you think.

The cream hats/fascinators I would use for the ceremony, the tweed hat I would use when I change into my "Going Away" outfit, and considering it will be winter, I think it's perfect!

There are several styles of shoes there, all of them handmade leather, the boots for myself I would most likely have made with a lace overlay, or lay the lace over myself when I got the shoes.

The men's shoes are handmade leather, and only $150! Not bad for something you can keep using!

I got a hug off the Mr this evening, and he snuggled in my hair and whispered, "I got's me one of those wifey's.....me likes!"

Even though my hair is really, really dark, I have quite pale skin, so I think I can pull off that era fairly easily.

I've found some pretty awesome ideas for wedding dresses that should be rather easy to create.......I would like to have a plain raw silk strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and a long sleeved jacket of lace which would overlay the entire dress.

Then over that I would have a raw silk jacket that is long sleeved and covered the dress about 3/4 down the skirt.

I've found a few pictures on forums that sort of show what I mean.....I'm not at home, so I'll have to wait till I get back to show you all.

I've found a few website which sell high label fashion shoes, so I might treat myself to a pair of those when I change into the reception wear.
