New Here
I am new here just signed up today. I suffer from ptsd and depression. I am also strong enough to know when I need help. I have talked to the shrink at the VA and they want to dope me up and make me sleep. I just need a like minded person to talk to sometimes. My wife bless her heart tries but she doesn't understand how I feel and she can't ever understand. She doesn't listen to everything. I hope maybe can find someone who understands here.

Thank you guys

Welcome to the forum Ugo.

It's hard to describe the constant war that goes on in our heads after the trauma has taken place. I'm a survivor of child sexual abuse and incest. It took me a long time to admit something was wrong. You've taken the first step by admitting it. I applaud you for your decision to deal with your problems naturally.

You will find lots of support, understanding and resources on this forum. You never fight alone.

Sincerely,
Ashton

PTSD is a very powerful thing to have in common with another person. Like all mental illness it is a whole spectrum of causes and effects and different personal stories, but the similarities from one sufferer to another are in general also very numerous.

You mentioned the VA, are you aware of the many combat related PTSD forums?

Welcome. This is a good place to share with people that will get it and offer feedback. Someone here will have been there and done that.

ugot86d,
There are many combat vets on the forum. If you go to the tab that says Forums, click on it, and type into the search field in the upper right space Combat Vets, you will find many people you can talk to who 'get it'.

Welcome to the forum. Most of us have similar symptoms even if out PTSD doesn't come from combat.

Hi ugot86d,

Welcome to the PTSD Forum! :)

There is also a related forum that you might find helpful, MyCombatPTSD.com. The link can be found at the bottom of this page.

I hope you find the information and support here helpful as you work on healing.

Take care.

Debbie
