Praying for the families and friends of all those lost and injured tonight, as well as everyone else affected. When will we learn to not sell guns willy nilly to anyone who wants them? Sorry if this comment "offends" some people. I'm offended when people use guns to mow other people down.

I totally agree. Plus serious background checks. Or, as a certain orange individual puts it, "extreme vetting." Somehow we have to get more civilized.

So I saw this post and had to check the news (that I have been told to limit by my T). Horrible. Yet, another reminder for me to connect back to/get right with God and tell my family I love them.

I have done this @TexCat...connected back with God...however unable to do so with family of origin...due to their denial re any severe abuse ever happened ...and also because they know I'm out of denial and in my ptsd recovery. I too am limiting and filtering what I see on-line and cable now re Vegas shooting. Traumatic...horrible.

Unfortunately, if someone has their mind set on acquiring a gun, or any other kind of weapon to take lives, it doesn't really f'n matter what gun laws are already in place, they WILL find a way to get one. Chances are they won't be choosing the legal method that requires everyone to fill out an application to do so to begin with, as they typically don't choose to operate "by the book" in the first damn place.

Where's the loving god(s) I keep hearing so much about who is supposed to be saving us all from these kinds of things? Looking forward to one day seeing if all those stories ever come true, too. Not holding my breath for that one, either. We already ask for too much salvation via legislation in my opinion.

We see how well off the state of things are, currently, by heading much deeper in the let's make more "rules and laws" direction. How's that working for us? Insanity around every corner, even the ones disguised as supposedly, one day, possibly even being helpful...based solely on shit we've always been made to believe and made to participate in to be considered a "good citizen".

It's always a tragedy when people lose their lives based on the cowardice, mindlessness, and/or hatefulness of others, no matter how it happens. It's a damn shame it takes public massacres to bring attention to it. What about those who die in silence everyday thanks to these supposedly helpful systems creating more harm than help for them when they ask for help...or by the so-called food being sold that's taking us out slowly but surely...or by so many other means passed off as "normal". May those who lose loved ones and greatly suffer in the shadows of the willful ignorance of others find relief and support to get through this insanity better known to most as reality.

The problem with that is it doesn't cover purchasing weapons on the black market. My husband thinks that's where this guy got these weapons. The cost for these elsewhere would require ID and serious money to purchase.

I started praying the minute my TV show was interrupted by the news alert. I'm in the same time zone. And it triggered me big time. Death does that to me. Some flashbacks to my father. Praying helped me too. Was a triggering day before the massacre.
