Learning about Confucius helps me understand why China is such a strong cultural force. There is a species of ant, called the Argentinian ant which is invading all over the world and its success lies in the fact that it refuses to be territorial with its own species, and in many ways is a single colony. Chinese culture reminds me of that.

A whole buncha stuff in French & German. I’m not entirely clear as to why. As I’m not especially proficient in either language. I only grok maybe 1/3 of what’s spoken. Then, again, maybe that’s why. Needing some distance. Even from my vicarious emotions.
