Abide with Me always gets me going anyway.

Also when the countries were being led in. The girls leading had dresses with faces of the 7/7 victims as the pattern, very effective.

I just read that the US coverage eliminated this tribute. I'm very disappointed with NBC (the television network). I will have to see if I can find a video of this bit.

I know what you mean Kers, I'm frustrated trying to view the variety of events that make the Summer Olympics so amazing with so many countries. I have been able to catch some highlights in sculling, fencing, and boxing which has been great!!

I had to laugh at the commentator in the womens synchronised diving today. Canada came third and were obviously thrilled. They were all hugging one another for what seemed ages and the commentator said - 'it looks like a hug a Canadian day'. It made me laugh and think of Froggie. (((HUGS))) Froggie :D.

I don't know why they make stadiums that size, then place the seats backwards so the people at the back can't see anything. Wouldn't it make more sense to have less rows and stack them, so you looked down instead of across and down!

They did tremendously well, lead from the front and just kept going! :tup: Shame about our men's 8's they so wanted gold but they did well to get bronze.

Great to see Michael Phelps back winning medals and Ian Thorpe commentating for the Brits!

(((NH))), Congratulations to Mr Clos from South Africa for last nights swimming gold. He was so sweet showing such emption on the podium. The BBC grabbed his Dad and brought the poor guy to the studio for an interview. Dad was so excited and kept telling the world about his beautiful boy, such a proud moment for him. Then he realised he was on live TV and was just blown away, lovely to watch.
