Why do I feel the way I do?

Why do I go on day after day?

Why don’t I take the easy way out?


I walk by strangers & get on the bus

They don’t know how I suffer day after day

How hard it is for me to do simple things


They’ve seen what I’ve seen on the TV

They go to the movies to see the films

They call the actors action hero’s!


I’m no hero I did my duty I served my country with honor and pride

Through the good times & the bad


I try to come to terms with what I lived through

The roller coaster of emotions the thoughts the memories


I wright this with tears in my eyes

If I was given a chance to live my life again

What would I change nothing!

I’m humbled I had my chance to serve next to my selfless brothers in arms
