So your CBT class was telling you to do nice/positive things.... are they talking about self nurturing type things or leisure type things? I have an extensive list of self nurturing activities as well as a separate list of things to do for fun. If you let me know which you were asked to come up with, I could provide you with the list I received

In case people are confused by the idea, "self nurturing activities" are things we do FOR ourselves often BY ourselves in order to help us become more in touch with who we are, take care of ourselves, and slowly boost our self esteem. Below is a list of SOME of the things one might consider doing to enhance a relationship with the self:

"Leisure" is a fancy word for "play". The goal of leisure is to have fun, and become "lost in the moment". Leisure is an important part of balancing your life alongside Self Care and Productivity. In the North American culture, Production is extremely important socially. However; elsewhere in the world people are asked what they do for fun before they are asked what they do for work. It is just as important to have fun as it is to be productive. Below is an extensive (though not inclusive) list of activities one might consider trying in order to enhance the leisure aspect of their life:

Ha!! That is funny myself ~ love that idea. We are pretty silly at our house - so I am sure we would be giggling and laughing a lot at that game.

Great list 4L150N!! While reading your list I found myself nodding my head thinking, yes that would make me feel good - and that would too - and so on. Thank you for posting that.

My house is always busy - driving kids here and there, working every day M-F, dogs, etc. A nice thing that I like to do when I can sneak it in is a little nap. Quiet and alone in my cozy bet for even 30 minutes can rejeuvinate me.

Might sound weird but I started going twice a week to donate plasma. It is a great way to give back and help others. It takes about an hour and I take a book or a magazine and have a little "me time" while getting paid to do it!
