Wow you Road Warriors,

@Anrish you are seriously kicking my butt!! I thank you for that as I have been slacking off a bit in this weather. I usually love the heat but this year for some reason, not so much.

Ok so the gym where I do Krav is looking for mentors for new members so I volunteered. In exchange I get a huge price reduction on my classes. That's major because I really can't afford to do Krav the way I would like because of the expense so mostly I practise the exercises at home when short of cash. This way, I will be able to do Krav twice or even three times a week now.

I managed a 35k long run on Friday - the weather had a bit of the autumn in it and I was out early enough to benefit. Once I started I couldn't stop. I am planning on the local city Marathon coming up and so just getting back into marathon shape. It usually takes me a few weeks to tweak my distances and my diet. I have been consuming a few too many carbs with friends over the summer so this is a really good focus now.

Also, I have been swimming in the local Y pool and got a bit of lake swimming in as well over the past few weeks. I take my dog Hank swimming with me but he isn't a real fan of water so when it's a serious swim I usually leave Hank in the A/C at home.

4th September: 35 min run
5th September: 30 min Yoga Nidra
6th September: 50 min run
7th September: 30 min Yoga Nidra and 80 min with my MTB
Today: 30 min Yoga Nidra and 50 min run

*puts a pillow on her foot and gently kicks @City Slicker 's butt* :p

LOL! That's exactly what I needed @Anrish. Just headed out now with Hank for a hike - finally, finally, finally the heat and humidity have broken and the day is gorgeous here. I am putting off housework now because all that can be done in the dead of night rather than wasting gorgeous day hours.

After Hank's hike I have a 2hour krav class followed by a 10k.

But you are so still kicking my butt!!!
I have to get it in gear a bit more for the marathon!! So please keep kicking !!!!

1st day back at it yesterday, following a few months illness & a few months rehab.

5mi walk in stages.
2 hours crew, easy day. (Hard. Damn I'm old, broken, & fat!)
5 minute, maximum effort, ERG. :wtf: Erg is right.

LMAO. Hey. Beginnings always suck, buttercup.

lol @Anrish - I am amping it up as we speak!

The marathon is October 16th - I am really looking forward to it especially now that slightly cooler weather has finally arrived. I had a hard time with the heat this year for some reason where normally I love it and will run really long distances the hotter it gets. But this year was great because I have Hank now and running in the heat with him was totally out of the question.

This morning I got a 22k in while it was still cool but it was gorgeous and clear and a perfect running morning.
Tonight I have a weight lifting session (the older we get the more weight work is required to keep muscles on those old bones lol)

Then after, a nice long hike with Hank (5k for him)

Krav tomorrow and I have hockey starting this week too !!

Really pushed it at Krav class - gonna sleep well tonight : P

Hockey tomorrow night!! Kind of early to be thinking about hockey but I am a Canuck so...
(it's said here there is no such thing as 'too early for hockey'!)

@Anrish that's a substantial distance. Do you enjoy races or organized runs?

Two hours of hockey on Tuesday - and actually it went quite well. I am so not a hockey player but I enjoy the speed of the play - not that any of us are fast, it just seems really fast when you are playing - until you watch someone *really* fast playing lol.

Wednesday was a relaxed 22k run just to work out the kinks from skating.

Tonight was a treadmill run (17k) to unwind as I was stuck in meetings all day and then some weights.

Tomorrow I will do a 32km run with a running friend who is also running the marathon. I have a few more runs before I start tapering the distance. I will build in some rest days which increase as you get closer to the marathon.

It all feels good and I am looking forward to it.

@City Slicker : Gread to read that you're all back again! Go for it, girl!:D And I hope you had a good night's sleep after your training. ;)

I enjoy races but not the big events like Frankfurt marathon or similar stuff. I need some competition from time to time...:p

13th September: 50 min run
14th September: 30 min Yoga NIdra
15th September: 60 min run + gymnastics

Today: No training today yet but I'll go outside on our keep-fit-trail after the excessive baking session...plum crumble cake in the oven. :hungry:
