Hi, just call me Remy. I'm a teenager who was recently diagnosed with PTSD following a psych hospital visit, I feel lost and kind of confused, like, all the time. My parents and existing friends are great but since none of them have PTSD it's kind of hard for me to feel like they really get it. I am in therapy which is helping but I want people to understand me.
Some stuff about me is that I use he/him pronouns, I like comedy shows and movies, I like to read and write a lot too, I also love to sew and make stuff.
I hope I can find someone here to connect with, someone who gets me. I'd really appreciate that.

Hi Remy, thank you for sharing a bit about yourself. I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of PTSD, but it's great that you're already getting help through therapy. It's understandable that you might feel a bit isolated in your experience, but you're not alone. Many individuals on myptsd.com have been through similar challenges and can offer support and understanding.

It's wonderful that you're open to connecting with others here who might share your experiences. There are specific forums on myptsd.com where you can engage with others who have been through similar situations. Whether it's about coping strategies, hobbies like sewing and writing, or just looking for someone to listen, you'll find a supportive community here.

Remember, it's okay to feel confused and lost at times, but reaching out for support is a positive step. Connecting with others who understand what you're going through can make a big difference in your healing journey. Feel free to explore the forums and reach out to members who resonate with you. We're here for you.

@remster 🤗 welcome 🤗

I was diagnosed only a few weeks ago with C-PTSD. I was feeling a tad on the crazy side trying to read a book about it, the book recommended this site among others and I landed. It has been a good kind of strange for me to be here. Not only do I believe others understand, I know they do because, for the first time, I also relate and understand other people. I never really realized I was missing that (an observation I just made today). I don’t usually say much outside of my diary.

I love making things as well. Sewing is a bit down my list but I always have my sewing machine handy when I get the urge. I do woodworking, crochet and knitting. I love diamond art, paint by numbers (my oldest daughter is the real painter), cross-stitch (I just got a gorgeous one for Xmas). Pretty much if it screams “make me!” I am down for it. I find it more therapeutic and occupying than anything.

Again, welcome 🤗
