Man Shot Outside My Home.... News At 11

 I was sitting in my house, (on the computer), with the window open when I heard some people arguing loudly outside and then a guy said, "I ain't playing with you," then another voice said, "get back in the house, " and then I heard a little girl scream and I imagined this little girl to be running to get inside the house. A few seconds later, I heard a gunshot and saw two suspects driving away in a truck.

The victim, a male in his early to mid 20's was shot. Fortunately for him, he was shot in the leg and is in stable condition in the hospital. I was interviewed by two local news channels. We live in a very quiet neighborhood and even the police said it was very uncharacteristic for this area.

I may actually be on the news tonight, but I kinda hope they don't use my interviews; I looked a mess and was extremely nervous. *blush I am feeling really reactive right now, I don't want the suspects to identify me, but I wanted to help the police with their investigation. I don't know if I should be proud that I spoke up or afraid of retribution from the suspects.

We are not sure what the argument was over, but it was a little too close to home for me!!!!

Thanks all!!! :) It is a shame that these things happen even in the quietest of neighborhoods. We already have plans to move out of the city but these things can happen anywhere I suppose. I am glad this was a shooting and not a murder!!! I hope the rest of the day remains uneventful!!!

omg Lionheart, I can't imagine being so close to guns being used in domestic environments. I find USA culture scarey but I guess that's because in England gun's are still a relative rarity due to our laws.

You were brave to go and investigate and that the injured person is being taken care of is good news. Your sense of justice was what made you do the right thing and speak up especially as a little girl was vulnerable to being hurt or worse.

Be good to yourself and keep safe.

Yeah, it is not a good feeling to hear gunfire and to know someone is hurt or perhaps even dead or dying. I agree that USA culture is a bit scary....I have lived in this quiet little neighborhood for almost 6 years and we have never had anything like this happen before...It has definitely become too close for comfort and we are planning to move out of the city soon. (We were planning on moving anyway but this adds a little fuel to the fire, so to speak).

Wow brave and just??? That sounds noble,.....I will take that as a compliment and I humbly thank you for it!!!!!

love and light,
LH

Admire you. You sound so level headed talking all this. Seem to be taking it well. :)

Thank you Ayesha,

I am actually surprised at how well I am taking this. I abhor violence and it is a trigger for me, but still, I have managed to keep myself on an even keel somehow.... I guess the many years of therapy and medication management are finally paying off....I dunno  .............Whatever it is, I am truly grateful for it!!!:D
