Someone fresh out of an abusive relationship? Is going to be acting differently than someone who's had several years to process, heal, change behaviors, and start rebuilding their life.
Someone freshly divorced -or worse, in the process of a divorce- is going to be -in short- a hot mess. For a couple years, on averag. Goes by about a zillion if they have untreated PTSD & their stress cup is in constant overflow. I'm 5 years out from my divorce, and still have to deal with legal bullshit. How I handle those things now, versus when I was new? Hugely different.
You asked if anyone has been in that situation, how they dealt with it, etc. Wanted to make sure I had the broad strokes correct before weighing in. Because both my expectations & my solutions are (and have been) different depending on those things.
