but I do think it takes balls of steel for her to come back to Manchester this Sunday to do a joint benefit concert to raise money for those affected
and it sold out within 20 minutes of the tickets going on sale! I think that sums up the sentiment. Great on her bravery and for the other stars that will be standing alongside her. Of course it could have been any of them. I hope they all have a great night despite the situation.

This is horrific. I'm writing this up for work and can barely bring myself to write the story. Really, really terrifying situation in London right now. And it's so brutal to hear about a man walking up to random strangers and stabbing them in the chest. But why am I even surprised anymore?

American politicians and intelligence caused this mess. All us other stupid countries got dragged into it / jumped into it blindly as allies. Everyone involved is now guilty.

Once again, I'm going to have to agree with the above!!

Yes, and now London...

I'm waiting for it where I live. I'm in the Detroit area and the FBI was investigating a house in Dearborn(istan) two days ago the local news called it a "national threat" but we weren't in any danger. (wtf does that mean?). And I haven't heard about it since.

This is some scary shit!

From what I know, most of the recent chatter has been directed at the UK, with plans to attack in various cities there. SITE Intelligence has been reporting that after monitoring all the terrorist media. Though obviously the U.S. is always a prime target too. There was also a good report out today about an ISIS-affiliated unit working out of Libya that the Manchester bomber appears to have been working for. A lot of analysts thought it had been put out of operation by recent military operations there, but then the Manchester bomber struck, and now it appears to be a resurgent threat, especially for Europe.

Sometimes it's easier to process this all from an analytical standpoint. I guess that's partly what I'm doing right now.

@Casey_03 The BBC report I read stated that authorities were taken by surprise and that there was no prior intelligence or surveillance?

Sometimes it's easier to process this all from an analytical standpoint.

I think this is what I'm doing as well...

There may not have been intelligence specifically about the London Bridge or that area, but there most definitely was intelligence that attacks were planned throughout the UK. And there has been for several weeks.

Honestly, I think it is impossible for intelligence agencies to be able to prevent all these terror attacks. They get a lot of crap for supposedly not thwarting attacks, or letting suspects fall through the cracks, but think about all the stuff they deal with that we're not even aware of....

I agree.

I hope it was clear that I was asking for your thoughts specifically as you seem to have knowledge in this arena that I do not, and that I meant no criticism...
