Mandalas?

Has anyone in here looked into Mandala's, particular coloring? It's something I happened across and am now getting fascinated with. If you look at nature- circles are a huge part of it and the symbolic meaning of circles is powerful too. I just started doing some research on them and found a lot of remarks that they help with healing our souls and anxiety. So I decided to give it a try and I am hooked! I have done 3 colorings and find myself journaling on the pages around the mandalas. This is HUGE for me as I normally have a very difficult time writing out what I am feeling.

Just wanted to see what anyone else's experience was with Mandalas :)
 
That's wonderful that you've found something that works for you. Journaling around them, too, what a creative idea. I've enjoyed making mandalas for some years now. There is something centering about them because they are all about balance. My drawing skills aren't much to speak of, but design I can do, so it's an artistic activity that doesn't arouse my frustration around not having it turn out "right".

I used to have a book on different exercises for drawing them. One I remember was to first draw one starting from a point in the middle of the page and moving out, and then another from the outside moving in.
 
@sun seeker thats so awesome! I haven't thought about drawing them. I should look into it. As for the inside out or outside in- I read somewhere that if you work from the outside in you are wanting to work on your inner soul where as if you work from your inside out you are wanting to work on your environment, circumstances, family, etc.

I'm just a newbie but definitely something I am looking deeper into! My therapist I believe is big on this stuff so I am hoping she will have more advice!
 
Thanks for the video @digger I may try to start drawing some today!

@Radise I find any artistic outlet healing and relaxing! My favorite would be collaging, though I do some painting and stuff as well! Now this. What I think is best is that the mandalas are encouraging me to write/journal- which my therapist has been trying to get me to do.
 
Well my first attempt at drawing one. Not the best, but not disappointed either. May add more to it later!
