Marijuana (mj) And Ptsd Treatment

If you have a spare 30 minutes or so this is a very, very interesting video on the inroads taken into the different chemical compositions and their effects.

I am an anti-marijuana campaigner only because the use of MJ bought from the local dealer or off a prescription can have an adverse affect on the PTSD sufferer. Mind you, the next time you buy a batch it might be ok.
You see, MJ has so many different chemical compositions when burnt and a different set when vaporised. Some of these chemicals can bring on severe anxiety attacks, depression, and appetite. All three of those things a veteran with PTSD does not want.

The video delves into the different chemical compositions, how they are created, and what benefits the world can have if scientist are allowed to utilise it.

The biggest problem I see is with the pharmaceutical companies. MJ grown and harvested correctly is better than any aspirin, cortisone, and many other medications. There is no way these companies are going to lay down and lose production.

Have a read.

I will be toes up before it is legalised in Australia.

As a former stoner myself, I am on the ropes about the topic. I lived in California when it first became legal. I had a legitimate prescription. I grew and smoked and smoked and dealt. Yup, had a dealer's permit too.

It was because of all that I had to give it up. I found out the hard way that while the effects were extremely helpful for me, the after effects were counterproductive. Nowadays, I miss it, but I don't miss the heightened paranoia and irritability most pot users experience when they are not high.

Funny thing is, here in the states the VA is actually researching/doing drug trials with both pot and psilocybin (magic mushrooms' active ingredient) as PTSD therapy. So far they found that with pot, I am not the only one it is counter productive for. With the mushrooms however, there appears to be great benefit so far.

Ecstasy as well. There's a Doc that's been trying for years to get the govt. permission to study it. They did allow him to do a pilot study as the results were very promising. Probably why the govt. shut it down.

There are a lot of recreational drugs which have awesome active ingredients which could be used, not just for PTSD, but for a wide range of ailments.

My main drama now is liver function. I am constantly getting it checked due to the high amount of medication. I am hoping this move to the country fixes a lot of this.

Yup. And it that case it was actual ecstasy, not the bullshit melange of meth coke and god knows what the kids are popping these days. Hell MDMA was originally conceived as a psychopharmocopic

Those were weird years, Sludge. Every time the Fed. outlawed a drug, second year chemistry students formulated something new. Better living through chemistry. Yeah, I remember the MDMA thing. Fed wanted to send it up for a 10 -20 years stretch for drug trafficking. Did make me pay more attention to those MSDS sheets on the chemicals we handled.

The carved tablets next to the bucket fire extinguisher.

Sarg
You got carved tablets!?!? Shit. All we got were smoke signals and the occasional grunt from a fellow in an official looking mammoth skin holding a fire-hardened wooden spear.

On other funky drug news, I just found out that one of the preservatives I use for field samples on a daily basis is a controlled substance...

Google "Lugol's Solution" for a good laugh...then picture my scrawny, pale, high strung, twitchy, toothless ass getting pulled over in a federal government truck chock full of lab equipment with five liters of the stuff...

You had fire???!!!

You get pulled over, just tell em' it's all hush-hush NSA business and it's all an attack on right wing conservatives, war aginst Amerika and all that crap.

Medicinal marijuana and MDMA are pretty high on list now for treating some veterans so I thought I would post some more information.

The biggest problem a lot of people face with inducing marijuana whether it be by smoke, vaporizer, or eating is the ratio of the chemical composition of the herb.
You see, 40 years ago, people mainly smoked the leaves of the plant and to get a big buzz, they bought the heads. 95% of plants back then were outdoor type and the important point, the THC level was around 2 to 5%. Roll on the hydroponic world, cloning, cross pollination etc, etc and the heads of the cannabis plant can contain anywhere up to 25% or sometimes more THC. People today don't usually use the leaf either except in cooking, sometimes the leaf can be used as a filler but today it's all about the head and it is where most of the THC is contained.

Now in that video I posted it talked about the chemicals and there are so many which have different effects. This is where the PTSD comes in. You see, marijuana can induce high anxiety and paranoia which as you know is not a good thing.

If you wish to use this for medicinal purposes, you are best to research the seed banks and look for medicinal seeds and find which ones are bred for our ailment.
