Eleanor- the episodes last anywwhere from a few hours to a few weeks. It seems like she gets triggered by something, and until she completely comes out of it just about anything will set her off. She seems to be in that kind of limbo period at the moment.

Yikes. A few weeks is a long time. I mean a REALLY long time. Three days and I start being a wreck. The stuff wears me out too. Did she learn any "grounding" or "centering" or I don't know what else people call it techniques from her last T to help her get back into the present moment? That seems to help a lot of people. A lot of guys just check out by watching TV and that seems to help diminish the episode's length (or at least makes it seem shorter to everyone else:confused:) There is a thread here about "what to do when your partner goes mad" I think that might have some helpful stuff.

Here's to a happier new year!

Eleanor- she does have some techniques for calming herself down when she gets rageful, but she doesn't seem to be aware when she is disassociating. She thinks that she is quick to get angry and nasty because she has a problem with her temper. The whole awareness that the PTSD is flaring up just isn't there. Or, she doesn't admit that that is what's going on.
