May Not Be Around Much The Next 6/8 Weeks

Mom fell this morning and has a twisting fracture of her upper femur.

We are looking at surgery with plates and screws and a long recovery time. That is once she has surgery which can't be done until they get the blood thinner she is on out of her system. Yea, nice right!

I am OK "So Far" but anticipate a minor breakdown once I get my shower this evening.

You guys would be proud of how I held up under the stress all day. But, don't know how long I m going to be able to keep it together.

Gonna "try" to keep you guys posted on the progress when possible.

We will all be thinking of you and your mom while you are away, Herc. I hope they keep Mom out of pain. I had a spiral fracture from my ankle to the knee just from standing up with a cat in my arm and turning around while wearing moccasins (no ankle support.) And I was 35 when it happened. I can only imagine her pain and your stress. Keep breathing Herc, and remember that no mattter what your Mom says to you, she does really love you, but she is mad and frustrated at the situation, not at you.

Herc..that is the same surgery my Mom had 6 years ago after her accident. One day at a time and as you always tell me keep breathing. They can give Vit K that helps to thicken the blood if she has been on thinners, I remember giving it in the hospital if someones blood levels were too low but they need to get it right first before surgery. Take good care of yourself too and I am so sorry you both have to go through this!!

I will say a prayer if I make it to church again this week......

Thanks To All of You Guys.

Reading this has helped me feel not quite so alone. I have had a bright spot through this so far.

My daughter called and wanted to know if I needed her to come down and be with me. She and her hubby had talked about it and she would be down ASAP if needed.

On a feel good scale of 1-10, that was 100!

Could not sleep last night, but am I surprised, NO!
