I think that is the important part, finding the right therapist and psychiatrist. That can make all the difference. Just like finding the right doctor for your medical problems is beneficial. I finally have a great group of physicians that work with each other, despite their varied fields. It makes it a lot easier on me and I know that their treatments aren't going to be conflicting. Also, they give me control on my treatment and don't talk down to me as if I don't know my own body.
My med nurse practitioner reminded me the other day, while we were going over my meds and making some changes, that I am in control of this. He doesn't ever want me to think or feel that I do not have control in this. I believe that's good because I don't have to worry about having questions or hesitations and being treated poorly because of it. Also, since I don't often feel in control of some of my mental issues at the moment(working on that) it is nice to have control somewhere.
Don't let anyone push a diagnosis or treatment on you. It's your body and mind. Never forget that.
