New Here
Hello-
I am a 62 year old Vietnam infantry vet who served in the Mekong Delta with the Mobile Riverine forces of the 9th Infantry Division. After a lifetime of tumult and unhappiness, I am considering filing a claim with the VA for disability related to PTSD. Any advice from any of my fellow veterans?

Hey Don, welcome to the forum.

There are a couple of guys on here that can help you namely "Jar", and "Sarg". They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the family Sol.

Glad to see you survived the last years of suffering with out the VA to help.

Granpasimpson and Sarg will be on later and will no doubt give you help where you need it.

Welcome Sol, knew a Riverine years ago. Outstanding fellow.

As to your question regarding applying for benefits, I offer these two sites:

Hadit has some ladies on there that know more about VA law that the VA does. Also, if after you file your claim, it is denied, we Veterans are allowed, at last to hire lawyers to help us. You don't have to pay them until you win and then it is an agreed to sum. You do not get charged at all if you lose.

Veterans Benefits Network Forums

VBN isn't the kindest toward us PTSD suferers, but their site offers help from VA employees that were VA Raters, mouth of the horse sort of thing.

If there are more detailed questions you have for me, please feel free to PM me.
