OH hell V, you can say my name! It was me who was "moved" by Reign Over me. Let's just say.. I've been crying on and off for a few days. I'm determined to go and buy the movie.. I just know that I will bawl my damn eyes out for a few days when I watch it! I can not even explain how it touched me. It seemed to bring up some weird shit that I didn't even realize I was upset about... good movie though.

I thought it was quite good, too. I usually hate Adam Sandler, but he did an excellent job. I'm glad that they made it more complex than flashbacks/memories. PTSD is a lot of things.

OMG, I just watched the trailer. This looks like an excellent film. But, just have to add, Adam Sandler in a serious role? Blows me away.

Ok....i just wtched Reigh over Me. I cried through the whole movie and as I always do i related to a lot in this movie as far as some of the things he did. He did a great job in this drama. I think so anyway.

Bec, I ain't saying no names in nobody's business until they do LOL... So now I will say you were very moved by it. I still have not nutted up enough to try to after seeing how it effected you. Playing with fire just does not seem like a bright idea for me at present. Oh, hell knowing me playing with fire is exactly what will happen.

"Regeneration" (1997) British Film. Takes place in an asylum - soldiers from WWI being put in an asylum with shell shock. It is very intense.

Copycat with Sigourney Weaver, she was agoraphobic because of an attack. It was a long time ago that I saw the movie, but I remember feeling very ill when it was over and having nightmares for weeks.

I just looked it up on netflix and watched the preview. IT LOOKS GOOD. I moved it to the top of the cue.

the title was "Behind the Lines"with Regeneration as a subtitle maybe that's what they call it in the US.

synopsis:

Empathetic psychiatrist Dr. William Rivers (Jonathan Pryce) works in a British military mental institution during World War I, treating shell-shocked soldiers and returning them to battle. One of of his patients is Siegfried Sassoon -- one of Britain's most famous wartime poets. Tormented with the enormity of his task (the war stories are quite graphic), Rivers teeters close to the edge of his own mental breakdown.

Oh, I disagree that The Fisher King was about a schizophrenic. He was this great professor, his wife was blown away in front of him, he gets amnesia, lives on the streets, starts having flashbacks, comes back....all sounds like PTSD to me.

It's one of my favorites.

What suprises me is, once again, I see how every area of my life has been shaped by PTSD - even the movies I've been drawn to....
