Something wierd just happened! Can't stop laughing :laugh:
My sim card on my mobile phone for no reason just shut down!!
So I had to check it out, and it was where it should be, am scratching my head here...So I took it out and put it back in... Nada Problem now.... But It's snapped me out of 'alarm mode'
It's a brand new sim as well lol

I reckon someone was praying for me, cos sims don't 'just suddenly' stop working and there ain't nowt wrong with my Samsung either lol :laugh:

I meant, sims don't just suddenly shut down unless they're faulty lol and faulty sim cards do not work if they're taken out and put back in again lol
Really scratching my head here... I wasn't even waving my phone around in anger either

I Was horrified when I was told that there is No cure for PTSD...Just Coping mechanisms and medication...I know I'll never be quite like I was in my past,

I used to have both PTSD and DID. Excellent therapy and hard work on my part, followed by EMDR, brought me out from under both diagnoses. I tend to be a bit anxious now but that's a far cry from PTSD and/or DID.

You are correct, though, that you will never be quite like you were prior to the traumatizing event, but is that really surprising? Every life event - even toilet training or a wonderful vacation - changes a person forever.

So, no, you will never return to your past self, but you can reach a point where the event becomes a properly stored memory without potential to trigger you.

I only learned today that DID is the new term for what used to be called MPD.......I had no idea it had changed.
Yup, this site is fabulous for learning about different disorders and not just about PTSD. I Love to learn.

Two theories:
- Dirt in the contacts that was shaken loose when the card was removed
- faulty memory state in your phone that was reset when the card was removed
