Oh yes. They cut out the affected part of the duodenum and reattach it to the pylorus

@Fadeaway I know how you feel. I was unknowingly being exposed to a toxic chemical that affected my red blood cells. My hemoglobin hovered at 7-9 for 5 years. Once I got away from the exposure, it finally got to 11. I know how relieved you are. It sucks to be anemic.
