HI Darran - Thanks so much for telling me and others about the charity - I called them today too.

I wondered - do you work for them? Or simply had such great results that you want to share with others?

Either way its fine of cousre - just wondering....!!

Thanks again and looking forward to seeing if they will be able to help my hubby too....

Sunshine

Kia ora Angej,

Keep looking, the support you need is here, and the information you need is here too. Its not easy, and there will be a long road ahead, but with the right therapy and love and support your H will get a lot better, and things will look up.

Kia kaha.

i so appreciate where you are coming from.. my husband was diagnosed 3 yrs ago after my son/his step son nearly killed him in an assault. since then my loving trusting hubby has changed into an angry, self loathing, sad alcoholic i no longer know. last week he tried to commit suicide and i called our local police/ambulance. he is still in hospital now and hopefully going to be getting the help he so badly needs... i as you feel so helpless and want to change the horrific home life we now have. i wish i had an answer for you but like you i am asking for some support too. with the help of this wonderful forum the help is out there and we are reaching for it!!!

Reading about it all is really helpful yet when I go home some days I don't seem to be able to remember it all, it's like home is a different world. I have to find my ways of coping and I don't honestly know what inflames the situation and what doesn't so am abit stuck on that one. I try to take each day as it comes last night and this morning was pretty crappy so am at work zoning out and have something fun to do with the kids after work.

I volunteer for them, we have a few exiting projects happening. I will soon be able to help out on the change program, but as you must know, getting work is hard when you have PTSD and my funds are a little low atm.
This will all change soon :))))))

Sorry Darren I don't know I am not a sufferer of PTSD my partner is so it's abit new not only seeing his world change but seeing him change and in turn my world changes too. I am also no where near where your programs are I am in NZ :-)

Hi Lynn how do you handle the change in your husband? Mine is an angry self loathing lying person he shuts himself off from the world including me and his 2 daughters. Then he has moments where he is the old person who I think is still in there. He is not an alcoholic yet I beleive there is substance abuse going on somewhere. How do we do it?
