My wife has received some amazing news these past 2 weeks. First she was invited to present her book at this really big conference this Oct., then they asked her to please be a speaker. They think that with everything she has gone through, and the progress she has made in the past 7 years, she would be a very popular speaker. The conference is on PTSD and Disassociating, and has some of the most renowned experts in the 2 fields speaking at it. It is a really big deal for her to have been asked to present her book there much less be a speaker.
Then, upon reading her book, one of the biggest promoters of books of this type contacted her and said that he wants to promote her book, (free of charge) all over the world. He believes her book shows that no matter what the trauma is, or how long it lasts, that with hard work and determination people can get through it with and move on to a better, more satisfying life in time. She has also been asked to make presentations on trauma and PTSD at several different venues in our area.
It was also recommended she submit her book for the Minnesota Book Awards Competition by an author who has judged this competition several times in the past and was told that she has great chance of winning in the non-fiction category.
Some really big opportunities are coming at a very rapid pace. Sometimes she can't even believe that this all happening.
I'm so incredibly proud of her. She took what probably would have killed most people and turned it into something that could, and probably will offer hope and help for many who suffer from trauma and C-PTSD.
Way to go girl!!!!
