New Here
Hi all...new here.

To keep this intro short, been dealing with PTSD for 15+yrs which im only 36 so that says a lot already. Between abuse throughout almost my entire childhood & some major accidents (ie; getting set on fire, pistol whipped in the head in 04') & few other major trauma incidents.....it's a daily struggle to keep my mind right. Even if things are going good as we all know something simple can trigger you so easily into a depression/anger/flashbacks etc* whatever it may be. Don't got many friends these days, i keep to myself & focus on work/hobbies which usually goes alright but it's not enough & being single so long it just adds more to the loneliness. Specially when you don't really have any type of moral support around you it's 10x harder to push forward & keep it up when you have your bad moments. As said in my BIO, most of the time strangers end up treating ya better than actual family...anyway my issues have also led to extreme insomnia so im usually up if anyone ever want's to chat. I'm a good listener & don't mind ya venting if needed as i can understand more than others in some cases!

I do have my ferrets though which can always bring ya out of a funk at times! ;)

Maybe there is something out there for you that you can do that uses your symptoms to your advantage and in turn can help you. If you love ferrets, maybe there is a ferret sanctuary or animal place like that where you could help out at, and it, in addition to your work and hobbies, would be “enough?”
For me, volunteering is very helpful (I’m a medic). I find that servicing others makes me feel good about myself and provides me with moral support even when there aren’t others around me to do so. There’s something powerful about the fact that even though my life has done several tours in hell, I am still here and able to help and make a difference in the lives of others. It also clears my mind a bit because it helps me to not be “stuck in my head.” I even get to use my insomnia to my advantage by taking night shifts ;)

Welcome !! You won't be lonely here, this place is huge and very diverse. We even have fun !!! Hope this is a place you feel you belong and supported , and can support others... glad you are here !!
