Hi there, I am new here and also newly diagnosed with PTSD. Thank goodness a friend, who was in the fire service and seen colleagues with problems, was brave enough to speak up and said that he thought I had a trauma problem and advised me to see a counsellor which I have been doing for a few weeks now and he has confirmed that I have PTSD.
My PTSD was caused by an air crash that I was closely involved with (I was not in the aircraft but very closely involved with the whole event) and I am now suffering flashbacks, panic attacks and extreme sadness and depression, together with other stuff.
I have no support at home as my family refuse to recognise any kind of mental illness at all and my friends are running a mile from it and either dont want to help or don't know how to so it is a very hard time right now. I feel incredibly fragile both mentally and physically, so please bear with me. I am just so grateful to have found the forum where I can talk to people who will understand.
Sorry to sound so miserable and negative:cry::cry::cry:
