New Here
@intothelight thank you for the warm welcome! I'm slowly getting comfortable here! Navigating the site has taken some getting used to but I'm pecking away at it!
@TimeToHeal - that 8 weeks was the most intense of my life - having everything I know fall away from me, having to wrap myself up in my vulnerability - wow, the first few days I just wanted to run...run like hell - but I'm so glad I didn't. EMDR as I mentioned was a life saver, truly - the best part was that this rather 'high end' if you will, facility had many different treatment methods - including acupuncture and massage work, zero balancing and shiatsu massage - the touch aspect was really important for me as I was not comfortable with touch in general. I'm ok with it now. I hope it's ok to go off topic re: horses :) but I've been riding most of my life, everything from Quarter Horses, Morgans, Appys - et al - and I've ridden hunt seat, western and did a little (very little) bit of jumping. The truth is, I love them all. I'd be lying though if I didn't tell you the first time I ever saw a Saddlebred that my breath was taken away. The beauty, the grace, the athleticism - I'm getting goosebumps typing this. So I began riding saddle seat and showing Saddlebreds, and while I don't have a horse right now, I hope to in the future. I have a wonderful barn that I still consider myself to be a part of and I also photograph horses professionally (in my spare time!) I took my avatar photo back in 2010. I love the show ring...I hope to make it back there some day soon!
