Hello everyone! I'm a 1 tour (70-71) Vietnam Veteran. It wasn't until '96 that I finally reached a bottom and agreed to walk through the gates of the VA. Without going into the usual details I'll just say that it took them very little time to diagnose me with chronic PTSD. I can't say my initial visits were pleasant ones, but I can say it was the beginning of a much better life for me and my family.

By the end of '96 I was working on balancing medications and already going to weekly group sessions at the Veteran's Outreach Center. I still attend that same group on Tuesday mornings....16 years later!

This forum is one of the best I've found. Thanks for allowing me to become a member. I look forward to sharing our common experiences and methods of healing.

Welcome mate, we are proud of our forum, there are lots out there, but they are full of trolls and bitchiness which we try and stay clear of. Ours is meant to be approachable and about getting help to everyone. There are even some Nam Farts on here. Hey Jar???

We look forward to your input, in the meantime, have a read.

Thanks for the big welcome my friends! For the next few days I'll be doing lots of reading throughout the forum so that I have a good feel for it before my first posting.
