Just finished watching Nic's videos. The forum player was pretty jumpy viewing, but I did find all 5 parts on YouTube. Wow! Until now I've heard very little of how training played a role in Combat PTSD. I'm always searching for ways that provide new insight into what makes me tick.

Hello everyone! I'm a 1 tour (70-71) Vietnam Veteran. It wasn't until '96 that I finally reached a bottom and agreed to walk through the gates of the VA. Without going into the usual details I'll just say that it took them very little time to diagnose me with chronic PTSD. I can't say my initial visits were pleasant ones, but I can say it was the beginning of a much better life for me and my family.

By the end of '96 I was working on balancing medications and already going to weekly group sessions at the Veteran's Outreach Center. I still attend that same group on Tuesday mornings....16 years later!

This forum is one of the best I've found. Thanks for allowing me to become a member. I look forward to sharing our common experiences and methods of healing.
