I am a new member and my spouse has PTSD. He was in a car accident about 14 years ago where he survived and the other person did not. He always held it inside and found unhealthy ways to cope. He started a high stress job and after awhile, everything just came to a head.
He finally decided he needed help and now we are finally in the process of healing. It has been very hard on him, dealing with these feelings that he kept bottled up inside, and it has been a challenge for me.
It pains me to see him hurting, and I finally had to accept the fact that I cannot change how he feels about himself and the accident. I can only be supportive and hope that each day is better than the next. I am so happy that he found this outlet where I can share my experiences with other supporters. Together we can make it through each day and be the rock that our loved ones need.
