Hello you

:brrr: hi sunflower...... i'm sure you will find this site helps you ....these guys do a fab job of disseminating the knowledge of this awful thing. knowledge is power and I have been well informed here, from a professional and personal point of view.

Anthony deserves a medal for creating this haven for suffererers and families. If you want to "share" I would like to help also. Merry Christmas

(hubby also spent time in Iraq and seems to have left his soul there - God bless him )

Merry Christmas,

Hope you are having a good christmas.

This one is difficult for me & my hubby. We get his kids every other christmas. This is the one with out kids. My daughter is 22 yrs and went with her boyfriend to his parents. So that left us alone. My husband sees this time of year as being with family. He feels abandoned, I think. It hurts. He is really loved. Christmas just isn't like on TV. It's not perfect...
We spent Friday with his sister & her family, his parents, etc. Just not the same somehow...........

I want to cheer him up.. Everything I say & do is not doing anything positive. He's just bummed out... I hurt just looking at him knowing he hurts and it make me want to cry. Why does it seem life is so down or painful?

sorry for this downer.. better go...

hugs to you all and hope you and yours have a great day...

best wishes

christmas alone, but together

My husband and I also spent the hoildays alone, but together. When my husband returned home from Iraq we moved 12 hrs away from any family members, but to warmer weather.

Anyway for Christmas eve we had a ham dinner opened presents and went to bed. Christmas day we eat left overs and cookies, we put together a puzzle and took turns playing a game on the computer it was very nice. It may seem a bit borning, but it was very relaxing, we didn't talk much, even so it's good to be in the same room together. We were able to talk to our son and daughter on the phone, we miss them very much.

We also do this to help us feel alittle closer, every night we go to bed together, at frist we were each on our own side of the bed, but now we snuggle together, sometimes we talk sometimes nothing is said, it is soothing to both of us just to know we are still there for each other. Sometimes I go to bed, but I am not tired, my husband is usualy asleep quickly because of his meds. sometimes I will get up, sometimes I stay in bed and listen to his snoring, thankful he is here with me.
