Hello-
I started out here as a guest and after I received much kindness, support and yet constructive honesty, I kind of just threw my suit on and jumped on in. Been diagnosed professionally for a year, but been hiding/burying the PTSD for over a decade. Im kind of in the "some great days, some awful days" stage. Was seeing a trauma specialist but in quitting my high stress job and feeling like I don't get enough "tools", I just paid to vent, I am taking a break and just doing workbooks. I start a volunteer job this month that I am VERY excited about, I've worked with dogs for 10 years now and have two fur children of my own. I call them my saviors some days because man, there have been more days than I can count that they have quietly supported and saved my life. Dogs are just the best. But anywho- I will soon be joining an amazing nonprofit that not only saves dogs from kill shelters, but train them into becoming service dogs and support dogs for special needs and PTSD veterans, sufferers, etc. If anyone ever wants to talk about this with me please feel very free to ask. I can talk about dogs, dog behavior or even how they help PTSD for days.
Look forward to my interactions here. Seems like a great site.
