Blutarg you are right my husband has been my biggest support through all of this, and my fiercest protector from my ex - I am profoundly grateful and he knows it. :)

Hi Dragonflymom!

Does your daughter want to see her father? I'm not sure about the laws where you are, but in most states if the child is old enough you can fight the courts so he doesn't have visitsion. I did it when I was 13 so I didn't have to see my dad.

Unfortunately she still wants to see him, and is pretty attached to him - she was very young when most of the abuse happened 8 years ago and doesn't remember any of it. She likes to see him because he is the "fun" parent who plays video games with her all the time, and never does any schoolwork or any part of parenting that is work - fortunately it is only a couple times a year now that he has moved to another state but still contact with him is very hard on me.
