Hello all. Well hopefully this is the thing I'm looking for. This forum is new and sometimes I just need to talk and who better than people who have been in my shoes? Well I'm a 25 year old female veteran of the Marines. I served in Afghanistan in 2010 and I have never been the same. I didn't get the opportunity to stay on the FOB although sometimes I wish I had. So. I'm not sure what else. But that's me in a tiny nutshell.

There's an ol' saying "that once you're a pickle you can never be a cucumber again"

You're a warrior and sustained a wound unlike those of the physical variety. But, it too leaves scars some that lay beneath the surface and not visible to others but as debilitating just the same. Lot's of stuff here to read and learn. Many folks who served in Afghan here and a few ladies as well. Pull up a chair or take a knee - whatever works.

I was in the 2nd division southern command area (Columbia, Panama and Honduras)
Also did shield/storm.

This is a great place to find answers to not just PTSD but how do cope and deal with all the stresses we face.

If you get a chance to look at the video "your not in the forces anymore" I recommend it.
