Relationship Not sure what to do

@CheaireCat, I feel the relationship you want and the one she is able to give you are two different things. She isn't going to have a few therapy sessions and miraculously go back to the way she was (in the honeymoon stage).

If you want a story book romance, a PTSD relationship isn't what you're looking for. It's extremely difficult. You're in your FIRST shut out and you're freaking out. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Strap yourself in, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.

What I'm hearing from you is concern for yourself (which is fine in a "normal" relationship) but right now your concern should be about her recovery. IMHO

As I said before you really need to decide if this is what you want. Push/pull. Hot/cold. Happy/depressed. Angry/passive. Rage/playful. And that can be all in one day.
:(

I feel for you. I really do but I'm more concerned about your girl. She has children who need her. She has to deal with her trauma so she can be the best Mom she can be.

Please, take a deep breath, step back and let her do what she has to do.

Hope I didn't hurt your feelings. Just want you to think it through.

Good luck!

Just wanted to provide a slightly different perspective to @leehalf - concern for yourself is valid, in that you need to decide if this relationship is for you. The key point though is to realise that the relationship is what it is right now. No matter how much you want or need or desire or wish for more from your sufferer she just is not able to give it. And that may never change. So rather than trying to flatten out the roller coaster, you need to decide whether you want to strap yourself in or go get some fairy floss and a hotdog instead. (ie: it is ok to decide this relationship is not for you.)

I've been riding the roller coaster for 4 years now and it has made me sick more than once. I still struggle some days with whether I want to stay on the ride or get the hell away from the funfair.
