Noticing Effects Of Superfoods On Ptsd

I swear by seafood (even if it's just fish oil supplements) and leafy green veggies for anxiety.

GABA oolong is really good too. Not sure if it has any effect on my mood, but it costs less than teabags if I order it online. It's good stuff.

I've recently been watching my food in take....per what I've come to call "the come to Jesus talk" that my psychiatrist had a few months back.

She warmed me that meds are tricky and I'm responding poorly. One thing we can do is cut the weight(I'm fat) and check all my blood work to make sure everything is functioning normally. She explained that I need a slow glucose release diet, avoid blood sugar spikes caused by foods. High fiber, and.....cut the gluten AND no replacement foods that are GF. Like processed substitutes

It's been a bitch....but I don't have all the inflammation in my joints, I'm almost 99% headache free. Haven't needed over the counter pain relievers I'm 2 months. I've cut my Prazosin dose by 2mg and I'm finally responding to a very low dose of Abilify.

I swear by turmeric. Take a 2-3 inch piece of root, swish it in coconut oil, pour black pepper on it, and eat it raw, maybe with a berry chaser. It seems to even my moods out, give me a little brighter outlook on things, and I don't hurt so badly from Fibro or sports injuries.

Yep, I do much better on a diet of meat, leafy greens, raw veggies, berries, and nuts (nothing else!). Problem is, under stress I turn into a compulsive eater of nothing but sugar and potatoes, so I feel like crap when I really need to double-down on the nutrition. Something I need to work on for sure...
