I realy miss the .303 SMLE, just get a load of that Bayonet. You could skewer 2 instead of one on the thing.

Good days. not like the new lets pretend your a bayonet, wire cutter, swiss knife wanna be.

I agree mate but when they said " Fix Bayonet" in Afghan my heart fluttered a bit TBH. Thinking back cos of my job role i fired my pistol more than any other weapon ! (Excluding the Arty) Too busy dodging bullets, apart from that last big one which caught me off guard:eek:

"Fix Bayonet" was allways a nice way of saying "Right guys, were in the shit"

I had one for my SMG in the Gulf  Like you didn`t have to get close as it was to shot with the bloody thing,

bayonet / wire cutter / tin opener! You know how ours worked. You fix it to the metal thing that you put it in and it cuts wires. Despite being told its sharp... guess how many tried it on our fingers?

Not to send this thread in an entirely different direction, but...

Sarg

I agree Sarg, but totally wrong area. Did you realise it was in the 'Now this is Funny' area??If you Google 'Now This Is Funny' you can read these posts. Then again, maybe a lot of civilians need to see it for what it is, they laugh at veterans.

Anyway, I watched a documentary last night about all the US veterans who lost limbs and were involved in serious IED incidents. The one point the CO of the Hospitals in the US, and over there commented on was how resilient and accepting the veterans were when given the news they had lost limbs, or half a face etc.

Sorry, tangent again

Nah mate, we are all guilty of posting in the wrong area. I just want to make sure that you guys and gals know that the only area not susceptible to Google is the members only area.

LMAO

UP THE MICKS

my unit, bless em.

I was always told "if you go down, you f*cking go down, the bearskin will break your fall"

saying that. I did throw up on buckingham palace forecourt during the changing of the guard. right in front of the garrison sergeant major. what a beautiful day that was.......
