Jar, I used to have a friend that lived on a street that for some reason, all the tourists would take a wrong turn wind up on. Said street also had a very deep drainage depression right in front of his house. We used to sit out on his porch and watch all the Winebagos sp. go slamming into this thing and send sparks all over the place and laugh our asses off.

Hey Sarg

When I was first married, my wife and I live on a country road that took a wicked twist in front of the house we lived in. Also, like most country roads there wasn't any shoulder, just a drainage ditch as well. There were always people coming way too fast down the road and just barely makin' the S curve the went by our house. We probably collected like 50 hub caps in the time we lived there. There was also a few that just rolled it and needed help at like 2:00 AM. No on got really hurt, luckily, but it was both interesting and pretty funny sometimes.

Hehe. Similar thing in Galveston. 17th street. Kind of looks like the Depression never stopped there. A tour bus would always go down the street to look at the "Architecture" Of the old houses. We were 2 houses of surfer college students.

Huge trees lined the streets and the bus was open top double decker. In the summer this guy would drive by every day. We'd hear him coming and about 10 of us would come out onto our porches and verandas and start waving and acting as stupid as possible, some only in their skivvies and then THWACK!!! the driver would take them under a tree and wipe half of them out. Not say a word. Just keep on talking about architecture and drivin. Loved that guy.

Happened every day for a week sometimes. Never boring.

In FL. We had a house out in the country. Swampland mostly. Nice thing was a lot of tourists would get on a nearby highway and go the wrong way. For some reason they came up near our place to try to turn around.
The road made a sudden T just before our place. Countless drivers night and day would either go into a deep ditch or some managed to jump it due to speed and then get the rental car stuck in deep swamp mud.
As a kid it was fun to see the idiots. I swear half of the drivers had a map in the face untill about 2 seconds prior to inpact. Very funny to watch.
People would come out of the swamp covered in mud (stinks bad) and ask to use the shower. My dad would refuse but tell me to rinse them off with the hose. The house water was so hard and sulfer smelling that they stunk worse when I was done. More fun.

I know that mud Red... lol.. we had a name for it... where my sister lives up country in the hills all the locals sit on their porch every day and wave at the cars passing and count the ones that can't quite make the curves...

Wheelie Bin.webp
