When I got back from my first cruise in the first gulf war I actually had someone call me a "Baby killer". I just looked at her in shock. Really? Are you f*cking crazy? (Navy... aircraft carrier... didn't even see land usually, let alone see any hostile people and she knew it). I didn't know whether to choke her to death or walk away laughing. I almost attacked her I was so pissed, and I let my anger show. After I got my composure back, I asked her if she had an original thought in her head or if everything in there was absorbed from t.v., then I walked away...

I've had some baby killer comments too. It's f*cked up.

You know, I gave a talk to primary school kids one day (they were all 8 years old), and the questions asked were, where is your gun, and did you shoot people. But they are purely honest.
With adults it's 'What is it like over there', 'Better you than me', and then you get the ignorant imature wankers that ask if yo have shot someone. We don't have the hassle in Australia as much as you guys.
Everyone supports the guys and want them home. It's the minority that abuse us.

Ive had old guys say what I fought was not a war. (they didnt know me or what I had done)
I have had the war for oil thrown at me and I just said so? like I have a choice about it?! Like a politician is going to take a poll from the troops about do you support me sending you to war? lol
The war on "drugs" was such a sham. Throw men into high risk situations, provide such minimum asset alocation that you risk operations and lives. require the max. with the smallest amount of help. War on drugs my ass! They could stop it if they wanted. In less than 1 week all drug shipments could be over if they wanted to do it. But they dont want it that way.

I love when they tell me it's all about oil. Because with all the fighting we did, I'm not saving any money on fuel costs.

Ive had some people also tell me it wasn't a war because there is not high causality rate. Mainly those are the people that never served a day or service or was in during nam and didn't do a damn thing. Technology has advanced so much in the battlefield and has saved countless lives and prevented so many people from being severely wounded.

Ugh, I'm giving myself heartburn just thinking about all this.
