OBGYN after effects :(

Just read them. Very interesting. With regard to the trauma one, the article worked off of a controlled setting so it seems there may be a connection. Or maybe not :)

I definitely agree with the stress related one. I’ve personally experienced it where when placed in high stress situations, all of a sudden I would have a full blown cyst attack.

Thanks so much for these! I love finding actual, factual sources ?

I had polyps. Idk if that's the same but I have to be put under to get a papshmere. I was prescribed Xanax and I still couldn't calm down.
Doctors are so clinical. At my follow-up my ob-gyn gave me a print of the inside of my cervix to show me polyps and all the scar tissue there was. I was still reeling from the procedure itself.
I'm sorry about your experience. You're braver then me.

I had an ultrasound (pelvic and transvaginal) the other week and it was very difficult. It was a male sonographer. I was very tense and cried but tbh I'm not sure he even realised I was crying. I then left the hospital as fast as I could. I'm fairly sure I must have been a bit dissociated because when I went for coffee nearby (I always do that when I need to calm down) I couldn't find my words and the girl kept asking if I was ok.

I thought to ask someone to come with me but people don't realise 'its only an ultrasound that's not too bad' and so I feel stupid. I don't want people to see my upset.

My suggestion would be to take a trusted person with you and ask for a female member of staff even though I don't do those things myself. Also plan what you will do afterwards to ground yourself/calm down.
