I am so thrilled that our tax dollars are being used so wisely. This makes me beyond mad. Our country is in an economic CRISIS. The unemployment rate is beyond scary. People are losing their homes. People have no health insurance. Former Vets are homeless (in fact in my area they make up over 70% of the homeless population. Children are going hungry. My mom can't get any govt assistance at all while waiting for SSDI to bless her with their approval but we can bomb the D**n moon?

What we do know is that when the US do something crazy like this, it is usually to divert attention from other things that they are doing ..... any developing countries being invaded today?

Just learned that this little "bomb" cost $79 million. That does not include the rocket to get it there.

I don't know how many people watched the freak show but it was promoted as some big blast, showing moon particles high in the lunar sky!

What has Barack Obama done for peace in the world?
peace in the USA?
peace in Illinois (where he was a senator)?
peace in Chicago (where he was a community organiser)?

I'm not saying that he won't ever do anything, but what has he done so far?

Grandma Herc: I did not mean to imply that you are nuts. I just have a hard time believing what I see on the news these days. Stuff like this seems to be a way for the government to distract the population from other shadier actions. Who knows what they are actually up to.

I grew up in Florida so hurricanes, floods, and power outages were pretty much a part of life. I do not currently live in a city known for disasters but my house has been flooded 3 times in the past 2 months. My life partner also has a high variance job so one month we might earn 20k the next we might loose 10k that's just how it works. All of us live in dangerous economic times. The economy has periods of expansion and contraction so it is good to save during the expansions so we will not be short during the contractions. That being said, bananas are not a good idea for emergency storage.... the canned goods are not so bad though.

Okay, so Barack Obama also just won the Nobel Peace Prize for.....????? Becoming President? AND they bombed the moon, AND they're cloud seeding, AND governments are only NOW struggling to act to save our planet... I think each of us on this forum deserves the Nobel Peace Prize simply for facing the hardships we've endured without actually Killing anyone!

The thing that has got me saying "WHAT??????????" is this

The Nobel Peace Prize Committee make their decisions in February or March. Obama had only been in office a month or 2.

So pardon me if I seem a bit confused. What has he done?????? NOTHING,, NADA,,
ZIP,,ZERO,,ZILCH!

All he has done is talk and have news conferences. He isn't in his office long enough to do anything. He is always either going some place or just coming back.

I told my mom before he was ever elected that he scared me. I had no concrete reason----just one of those feelings.
