Can`t say I have been on that one Alex Cocker, but I did do Psychiatric Clinic for allmost 9 months.
And it is hard, at least for me it was, mainly because it was all civvies, Civvy Nurses, Civvy Patients, Civvy Docs and all that on the old 4Armd Camp in Detmold. Spent 4years on the bloody camp while serving and every where you looked it was memories.
But once your there and can accept that you are going to be helped it does help. You can learn alot.
Give them a call, and get a heads up as to what therapies you might be doing. I imagine you will also be under squaddies so you shouldn`t have problems with Civvy Patients and their menial problems of who left the light in the toilet on.
Not trusting or knowing them is also normal, If you don`t meet and talk to people you would never get to know them or trust them one way or the other. But then You allready know that.
Alex, you are on here because you have accpeted you have a problem, you have accepted you need help. This is a helping hand, take it, hold onto it, even when it gets shity and you don`t want to carry on. And stop hoping to find reason not to go  .
I was shit scared the first few times, and allways walked. Ended up with me under police escort , charges for assualt and being dragged to a secure clinic cuffed hand and feet. Allmost cost me everthing. You don`t want to go that route!
Out here, you are isolated for the first week and weekend, then visitors are allowed, and you are allowed out if there is anything worth going to. But that is a Clinic.
I would imagine it would be more like the PTSD coures Jimmy was on. He might be able to help you better.
Besides, 6 weeks? just like going on Exercise or Adventure Training. You have been on worse and you know that.
Take it for what it is, Learn from it, and start to Heal. You owe it to yourself.
