Our Pets

The other night I went out to sit on my patio. As I opened the patio screen door, I saw that a rabbit was sitting on the wet ground, by the air conditioner. I let him/her be, and then I found a place where it seems a rabbit has built a nest in my yard. So will keep an eye on that!!

On the other side of my fence, there are lots of animals. My view when I go outside would include horses, donkeys, goats, cows, camels, etc. and even bunny rabbits, it seems. Not my pets so to speak but I sure enjoy them.

Just glad it's a neighbor behind me that is having to feed them!

(Part of the reason why I so missed not being able to sit on my patio for so long).

My GSD has taken to trying to curl up into one of the recliners. He is way too big but he manages to get himself there - his front legs or bum on an arm. It is too funny! Today he even fell asleep there. I don't know how he does it. He thinks he is a person. It has gotten hot here and I sure wish I could convince him that not sleeping on me would be much cooler for both of us.

My cat seems to be like a toddler that you always have to watch. I was informed, when I returned from vacation, that when my friend came over to scoop the litter box and feed and water the cats it looked as though I had been robbed. They grabbed tin foil and shredded it, leaving tin foil pieces everywhere, found some paper and did the same, and opened ever cupboard in the kitchen. LOL. She cleaned it up for me.

When I got hope there was the little papery stuff that goes around a head of garlic all over the kitchen floor. I thought nothing of it. A day or so later I found the chewed up head of garlic hidden with my exercise stuff, LOL.

Oh dear Sammy, maybe we should form a list of things our pets have eaten.

Mine would include.
Glasses.
Cycle helmet.
Books.
DVDs.

Oh and there was the time I arrived home to find that Max had made numerous trips to the upstairs bathroom and one at a time had brought down feminine pads  and tore them into pieces across the lounge.

Oh what lovely stories you all have, makes laugh and I really feel I am ready for another dog but the owner of our rented Unit does not allow pets. When I lived far from here, I lost my best friend, Sam my Italian Mareema on 2nd September 2009. He had been my faithful and loyal guardian angel for 16 years. He was a big dog weighing 56 Kilos, pure white. Like your other stories he knew when I was sick and would lay in my bed or next to the couch. He had bright yellow eyes like fiery sunsets…. knowing eyes. I still mourn his passing which was very sudden and though I don’t know for sure I think it was snake bite. I knew his time was near the end but did not help when it happened. I was inconsolable for months but he gave so much to me and my son who was just a baby when I brought Sam home. He was such a serene dog but was always snoozing with one ear cocked up and was awake in an instant if he decided to. He used to follow me everywhere, including the shower, lol, in the end he got in the shower and did not mind a nice bubbly bath too. I know, it’s weird but I could never have wished for a better friend. So to everyone with their little buddies enjoy them and you are really blessed to be able to have your animals. One day I will get another dog and if I have half of the love Sam gave me then I will be happy.
