I have a 4 year old dog named Denver. I rescued him from the shelter when he was 4 months old, and in return, he has rescued me. He's my constant companion and helps me get out of the house even on days I really would rather just stay in bed. I also have 5 cats (all rescues). Smokey, Alexa, Nellie, Oliver and Cinnamon. Right now, 3 of the 5 have colds and won't stop sneezing. They go to the vet tomorrow to see if they require antibiotics. As I type this, all but 1 are sprawled across my bed. Wonder where my hubby is sleeping tonight :)

I am probably going to get a new cat this spring, but it won't be the sweet friend that I used to have. I am going to be grieving my loss for a long time, but life goes on and Millie would want me to be happy, I think.

@Lionheart777 Was Millie a boy or girl? So sorry for your loss!! Your new cat in the future may not be the same as Millie, but you will have a new opportunity at a new friendship. :):hug:

Millie was a little female and I loved her a lot!!! Thank you for the condolences, I am sure I will make a new friend soon enough. :happy:

I forgot to feed Cocoa this morning before we left the house. When we got home (she's pretty hefty) I have never seen an animal round the corner as fast as she did to get to her food bowl.
You'd be amazed at how such a tubby little thing can move so fast. Quite hilarious to watch.

I'm not a spiritual person but I don't know how to explain this.
I posted awhile ago that our beloved poppy (we had for 15 yrs died over the summer). He lived with my mother.
My mother has lived in that house for almost 20 years and over that time we've had 5 cats....all since have passed
Before Poppies death, Georgie as we called him would come around but Poppy would chase him away. After pops passed it took Georgie a few days to realize he wasn't around. (He is my mom's neighbor's cat). He began to live at my mom's. I would tease my mom and tell her instead of getting a new cat, she stole the neighbors.:p A couple of months ago poor Georgie went into congestive heart failure and died unexpectedly.
Since both cats passing my mother has reported on a few occasions different cats on her back deck.
She just called to say that the grey and white cat that has appeared a few times is NOW sleeping in the little dog house that's on her back deck.....(Poppy and our other cat Blue used to sleep in there.)
It just makes me wonder that in this big wide world that spirits do exist and maybe, just maybe all the cats that have passed over the years are around and calling to the other cats in the neighborhood and saying there's a VACANCY. 'Cause I will say it's very weird to go to my mom's house and NOT be greeted by a furry little creature.
Just a thought.
