Paranoia Is My Name Today

I noticed I was a little more paranoid a couple of days ago. I'm always vigilant and some of it rubbed off from the job. Sometimes I notice that even my paranoia is stupid.

I haven't figured that out. I know when I'm more stressed I get more vigilant. Some of it is just normal situational awareness but some days it jumps a level or two.

Maybe it's because I missed my meds from the day before or just stress.

Does anyone else have trouble with hyper vigilance or paranoia levels rising and lowering? If so Why?

By the way are you following me?

Bill, that made me smile :)

My paranoia seems to happen in waves. If I get one trigger another will follow, then another more subtle one will follow, which might not have triggered me, if the first one hadn't happened - does that make any sense?

It seems the more I'm triggered, the more paranoid I become, and then more triggers, and more paranoia. Vicious circle.

I don't know why. I'm sure there's some scientific explanation.

But it kind of makes logical sense, that, if you are triggered, you become more aware, more wary. Another trigger, and being aware becomes vigilant, because your senses are heightened another trigger is noticed. Before you know it, you're hyper vigilant, and paranoid.

I don't know how to cure it - but you're not alone!

Hi Bill, If you want to know who is following you, go to your profile page. It lists who is.

Vigilance can really mess with the mind. Have you done a pro and con list of who and why you feel like you are being followed where you live or work.

As I have justification of being followed anxiety allowed me to think coincidental actions were included. When I wrote it down it helped me to realize where to apply caution. I still have anxiety at times but I know what causes it.

My feelings of paranoia and an increased startle response seems to come and go. I will be fine for a while, then out of nowhere I start thinking someone is in my apartment with me, every noise startles me. I was fine all week until yesterday. It got bad again yesterday :(. I expect it will get better again..hopefully sooner rather than later.

I get a startle response rarely anymore. But when it starts it tends to hang around for a little while. Then it goes away by itself. I have not been able to figure that one out. It used to be so bad. But it is not a big problem for me anymore so it can get better.

I know if I see something on the news that bothers me I get real jumpy. Therefore I no longer watch the news. I hate the teasers since they pop up during other programs. I almost never watch TV at all.

I thought about the idea of the pro con thing Ms. Whitney mentioned. It's not like a being followed issue although I do check my six sometimes when I'm driving. Not like my neighbor is watching me. It's more of a feeling like I'm on patrol again and I'm checking cars for surveillance or noticing odd behavior. Walking in a manner so you have a reactionary gap. Some days it's worse than others. Often it's just my natural manner but sometimes I notice it's exaggerated.

Any suggestions?

Not watching t.v alone can significantly up your chances of having a life free from a lot of negativity and fear.
